Incorporated in March, 2004 as a non-profit organization, the ALLIANCE has been funded mostly by the its founders, and the hearts and minds of a few good waterfront business owners and vessel owners who share our belief that the PORT OF NEW BEDFORD can and should be at the vanguard of economic revitalization of our nation’s ports. Our diligent work has involved many hours in organization, ideas, issues, and implementation of strategies and tactics to reach our economic goals. It has been a costly process, and we are avidly seeking the participation of those who share our beliefs and goals by formally initiating a membership drive.

To become a member of the ALLIANCE, we are inviting you to join our efforts by becoming a participant and a backer. To accomplish our mutual goals, we need both your involvement and your financial support. Your personal involvement in a variety of capacities is most welcomed. The membership fees levels are as follows:

“ ANGELS ” AND MAJOR CORPORATIONS: $5000+

FISH PROCESSORS & BUSINESSES (15 + employees): $1000+

OFFSHORE VESSELS AND BUSINESSES (4-15 employees): $500+

INSHORE VESSELS AND BUSINESSES (1-3 employees): $250+

INDIVIDUALS: $25+

(Out-of-port vessels and businesses are encouraged to join as well.)

Voting members will comprise levels one through four. All members will be invited to general events, and also will be placed on our newsletter listing to be kept appraised of the Alliance’s progress and endeavors. Special events will be held and invitations sent pending level of participation, with level I members invited to all events.
